Last week I headed down to New York for a Martha Stewart packed 2 day trip.  The first part of our trip was checking into the stunning (Martha recommended...) Bedford Post Inn.  The next morning we went to a taping of The Martha Show, followed by a personal tour of the Martha Stewart Living offices.  Just when I thought the trip couldn't have possibly been more exciting... I got an invitation to attend Peter Callahan's book release at Darcy Miller's home.

For those of you that have never opened an issue of Martha Stewart Weddings, have never tuned into The Martha Show, or logged onto The Brides Guide Blog - Darcy is the editorial director of Martha Stewart Weddings.

And... For those of you that don't know Peter Callahan, maybe these mini grilled cheese sandwiches will jog your memory.  Peter is the mastermind behind the "mini food" movement that has changed weddings and cocktail parties for the rest of time.  His client list is just as famous as his mini bites - Regis, Dylan Lauren, Kate Spade, Tory Burch, Vera Wang, and Martha herself.

I remember seeing his mini creations grace the pages of Martha Stewart Weddings so many years ago.  Those issues were shortly followed by every one of my brides and clients requesting Mini-Sliders, Mini-Soup Shots, Mini-Tartlets, Mini-BLT's, etc.  His book, "Bite by Bite" (published by Clarkson Potter) features his most famous and most requested mini bite recipes.

He elevates the "it's all about the presentation" mantra to an entirely new level.  Look at these fish tacos served on top of a slice of lime, accompanied by the smallest Patron bottle of a margarita... this man knows no limits.

Bite by Bite has really inspired me - get ready for many mini bites in my blog posts for the Holidays.

Sylvia Weinstock (wedding cake royalty) and Anthony Luscia, Martha Stewart special projects editor.  I had a chance to chat with Anthony about his work at MS - he has worked on so many interesting and envy-worthy projects.

Milk & Cookies... but the milk was actually a milkshake.  That's my kind of surprise.

Pigs in the Blanket, 2 ways.  I mean seriously - have you ever in your entire life seen anything cuter?

Not surprisingly, the mini spaghetti and meatball was my favorite.  It was so easy to eat and it was perfectly seasoned with all of the flavor of an entire bowl of spaghetti and meatballs.

Here I am with girls from Kate Spade... I've always loved the Kate Spade brand.

Petite S'Mores... not messy at all - just one perfect bite.  The chocolate was just slightly melted and the marshmallow was a just touch toasted.  I'll definitely be copying this one.

Darcy was a great hostess.  She gave me a tour of her girls' rooms to give me ideas for our nursery.  Wasn't that so nice of her?!

Chipwich Lollipops - these are totally DIY-able.  In his book, Peter says you can even use mini store-bought cookies.

Darcy is known for her charming illustrations.  She created these custom labels just for the party.  The petite pies were the perfect treat for my train ride home!  Who am I kidding... I gobbled them up in the cab, on the way to the train station.

Peter - Best of luck on the book.  I can't wait to duplicate some of the recipes for the blog!

Darcy - Thanks for including me in the party and the tour.  You've given me so much inspiration for our little girl's nursery!
