One of my favorite things to do for the Holidays is have friends over on a weekend morning to decorate Christmas sugar cookies. I would make the cookies ahead of time, then they would help mix icing colors and pipe their own creations. We would have coffee and breakfast while we 'worked' on our cookies and then exchanged small gifts. Everyone would go home with a box full of festive sugar cookies to give as gifts or to enjoy for themselves. I love casual entertaining - it is all about the company and creating memories. No fancy table settings, no stressing, just having fun in the kitchen. Those cozy type of mornings are some of my favorites... thinking back on that got me thinking...
We shouldn't wait for Christmas to enjoy helping each other in the kitchen - what other holidays can we work together and have fun? Why not host a Pie Making Brunch before Thanksgiving? Invite a couple of your friends and neighbors over to roll some dough and do your Thanksgiving baking together.
